You can listen to music and answer the phone if you use the a headset that include a microphone and supports the headset or handsfree BT profiles.Pros: Cost, small, gets power from phone yet not a huge battery drain, super simple setup and use.Cons: Small (I know this is a pro as well, but could be really easy to lose), can't charge the iPhone/iPod while using it, LED is too bright (distracting, never cared for "always blinking" Bluetooth LEDs), cuts out every now and then, just for a second, for no reason. Just answer NO to the question "Not designed for iPhone, turn on Airplane mode." that appears just after plugging it in. I love this thing. Apple will not turn on stereo Bluetooth on 1st Gen iPhone, but this item works fine.
The blue light switches frequencies in a very obvious fashion, so there's never a doubt as to what mode the unit is in. What's not to like.Re-sync in the mornings takes about 20 seconds, but so far it hasn't failed to hook up to the BTS 200 ever. I wholeheartedly recommend this item. I'm using this with an iPod Touch and a BTS 200 Stereo Bluetooth Helmet Headset & Intercom with my motorcycle. I get stereo, I get wireless and I don't get a lot of battery drain.
No bluetooth device guarantees its compatibility so just be careful when shopping doesn't work with the motorola s9 headphone but fine with ipod itself.
extremely satisfied. I had already gone through about 4 wired pair in 6 months (got them caught on dumbells A LOT)., and that is what prompted me to look for a wireless solution, and this transmitter with some bluetooth headphones is the answer i was looking for. This product works great for working out IN the gym, but when i run outside and have to carry my ipod with me, i found that the motion from running constantly disrupts the flow of the music :/ its like running with a cd player and having the audio skip endlessly. But for excersise in a setting where you can just set this down and roam the gym w/out cords, its perfect. working out while listening to your ipod without the cords is a huge plus, im never going back to standard wired headphones again.
This is still a great transmitter for people who already own one and dont wanna upgrade for 10 bucks, or have a different compatible model ipod. Apple, however wants you to pay 10 bucks for this option through the ipod touch 3.0 software upgrade. If you own an ipod touch (2nd gen only) and wanna spend 10 bucks instead of purchase an external transmitter I'd suggest software version 3.0. Well when I got this little device I was pretty happy, its great for using with your stereo equipment, computers etc. I used it for a bluetooth headset connection, and for playing music through my car stereo (which sounded excellent) I now come to find out that my ipod touch (2nd gen) has a built in bluetooth chipset, that allows for wireless stereo via bluetooth.
